CHRISTENBERRY COLLET ANNUAL M&A REPORT FEATURED IN THE BUSINESS JOURNAL KANSAS CITY - Mo. (January 21, 2008) - John Hense, a Christenberry Collet & Co. principal, is quoted in the January 11-17, 2008, Kansas City Business Journal article featuring the firm's annual Kansas City area mergers and acquisition report, "A pedestrian 2008 may follow vigorous 2007." M&A deals increased heavily in 2007 compared to previous year although Hense warned that 2008 could see less M&A activity due to the economic downturn. He added that in some cases companies that are not able to grow on their own during times of recession look to acquire smaller companies in order to continue growth. According to the 2007 M&A Report released by Christenberry Collet, the largest deal of the year in the Kansas City area was IHOP Inc.'s acquisition of Applebee's International Inc. The deal was worth around $2.1 billion. Christenberry Collet provides merger and acquisition services to middle-market companies, both public and private. Areas of industry expertise include manufacturing, rural utility cooperatives, life sciences, agribusiness, and logistics and transportation. The firm frequently works on complex international and cross-border transactions. The Kansas City-based investment banking firm specializes in mergers and acquisitions, corporate fund-raising, and financial and strategic planning for corporate clients throughout the country and abroad. Since its founding in 1994, the firm has assisted clients with more than $3 billion in corporate finance transactions. BACK TO NEWS |
